Solana is a blockchain network that launched in 2020 and is seen by many as a competitor to Ethereum. Solana is designed to host decentralized applications like Ethereum but is faster and more scalable. It is a native cryptocurrency SOL used to pay for transaction fees in the network. SOL can also be staked(locked) in the network, giving the right to vote on important decisions and paying out staking rewards in SOL coins

1. Anatoly Yakovenko- Anatoly is the creator of Solana. He led the development of operating systems at Qualcomm, distributed systems at Mesosphere, and compression at Dropbox. 2. Greg Fitzgerald- Greg is the principal architect and CTO of Solana. 3. Raj Gokal- He's the COO of Solana. He was a venture investor at General Catalyst, started the consumer medical device company Sano which attracted over $20m in investment, and led product management at Omada Health as it grew tenfold

NFTs in Solana is getting popular, with it being the second highest volume platform after Ethereum(as of 2022) 4.
