Polkadot was founded by The Web3 Foundation, which facilitates open-source blockchain projects.
The founders of the Web3 foundation are Gavin Wood, Robert Habermeier & Peter Czaban.
Gavin Wood was the co-founder of Ethereum and inventor of Solidity, the programming language used in Ethereum.
Robert Habermeier is a Thiel Fellow, a fellowship started by billionaire Peter Thiel, giving $100k to bright and young entrepreneurs. Only 20 are given each year.
Czaban is the Web3 Foundation’s Technology Director of Web3 Foundation
